Experience the fun of riding a wave with Prue and her friendly and dedicated team of instructors. East Coast Surf School cater for any individuals or groups who have the desire to learn how to surf or improve on their current skills and knowledge. The only requirement is that you can swim.

All Equipment Is Supplied

Soft surfboards are predominately used in the lessons as they offer stability and enhanced paddle power for beginners. For the advanced surfers fibreglass surfboards can be used, conditions pending. Full length wetsuits, booties and helmets are also supplied for comfort and protection.

Instructors

The East Coast Surf School team are fully qualified (Surfing Australia- Level 1 Surf Coaching, Surf Rescue Certificate, Bronze Medallion and First Aid) fun, friendly and enjoy teaching surfing because they all love to surf themselves! All of the coaches live and surf  locally giving them a vast knowledge of the surf breaks and the area. Having local knowledge is an essential aspect of being a quality instructor.

Prue Latchoford is East Coast Surf Schools proprietor, principal coach and 2001 Australian Women’s Masters Champion. Along with Prue’s accomplished surfing history, many of the instructors also have years of competitive experience ensuring their ability to teach all levels of surfing.

Location

Most lessons are based at Point Leo. However, depending on the best and safest conditions they may be held at any of the magnificent surf beaches on the Mornington Penninsula. As some of these beaches are state or national parks, some do incur a parking fee and there are no pets allowed at East Coast Surf School surf lessons.
